What “Humane” Actually Means in Wildlife Control
“Humane” gets thrown around a lot in this industry. For us, it’s specific:
- We don’t use poisons or lethal traps where a live alternative exists
- We check live traps frequently so animals aren’t held longer than necessary
- When mothers and young are involved, we work to keep them together — pulling babies by hand and reuniting at relocation when possible
- We follow species-appropriate methods: one-way exclusion for bats, hand-removal for kits, live cage traps for raccoons and other mammals
- Any deceased animals are disposed of respectfully and in compliance with state regulations
Our Process
- Inspection. Every job starts with a thorough walk-through. We confirm the species, find every entry point, and assess whether young are present.
- Trapping or exclusion. Live cage trapping, hand removal, or one-way exclusion devices depending on the animal.
- Removal. Animals are removed promptly and disposed of or relocated according to Ohio law.
- Sealing entry points. Long-term success comes from blocking re-entry — we use heavy-gauge hardware cloth, vent covers, chimney caps, and soffit/fascia repair sized for the species we removed.
- Education. We tell you what attracted the animal, what to watch for, and how to keep your property unappealing to wildlife going forward.

Trappy’s is a small, locally owned operation. You won’t get a different sub-contractor every visit, and you won’t be passed off to a national 800-number for follow-up.
